The Event
The Guinness World Record was achieved as part of IBD Conclave 2.0, an international scientific conference held at Yashoda Hospitals Somajiguda on the same day. The conclave brought together over 300 delegates from India and abroad, including three international faculty members and more than 50 national experts in gastroenterology.
The awareness session and conclave covered the latest advances in IBD management, including biologic therapies, advanced surgical techniques, intestinal ultrasound, and the use of artificial intelligence in diagnosis and patient care. The event was designed with a clear public health purpose: to increase awareness of IBD in the community, promote early recognition of symptoms, and encourage timely medical consultation.

Dr. Kiran Peddi has spent over a decade building one of South India's highest-volume IBD referral centres, managing more than 2,000 patients at Yashoda Hospitals Somajiguda. The Guinness World Record achievement reflects a commitment that goes beyond the clinic - to reach patients, families, and communities before the disease becomes advanced.

Dr. Kiran Peddi - IBD Specialist
Dr. Kiran Peddi holds the FRCP (London) from the Royal College of Physicians, UK, and a CCT in Gastroenterology from the North West Deanery. He trained across leading NHS hospitals in the United Kingdom and completed a Fellowship in Advanced Endoscopy and IBD at Fremantle Hospital, Western Australia, before returning to India in 2010.
He is currently Principal Investigator on six active Phase 2/3 sponsored clinical trials in IBD, co-author of three international consensus statements, and one of 35 faculty members on India's largest AI in Healthcare education programme (NBEMS, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare). He serves as Joint Secretary of the ISG Telangana State Chapter, Medical Advisor to the South Asian IBD Alliance, and Core Member of the APMA IBD Coalition.
In January 2025, he was featured in India Today's 50th Anniversary Special Edition, Eminent Doctors South 2025, under Gastroenterology for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
